I’ve spent a lot of time second-guessing myself.
Not publicly. Not dramatically but quietly.
The kind of second-guessing that looks like competence from the outside. The kind that still shows up, hits numbers, runs meetings, makes decisions, builds things. But underneath it, there’s a whisper:
Are you actually qualified to be here?
Are you just good at presenting confidence?
At what point does someone figure it out?
Imposter syndrome is a strange thing when you’ve been doing something for decades. You would think experience quiets it. Sometimes it does. Sometimes it just makes it more sophisticated.
I actually spoke about this once on a podcast called The Wrong Advice — about the absurdity of still feeling like you don’t belong even when your résumé says otherwise. I remember being honest about it then. Naming it. Almost dissecting it.
And yet here I am, still feeling it in new ways.
I’ve built stores. Led teams. Curated spaces. Helped other creatives move forward in their careers. I live inside an industry I love. And still… there are seasons where I look around and wonder if I’ve somehow slipped through a crack.
There’s also the quieter thought:
Is this it?
Not in a dissatisfied way. More in a restless way.
When you are ambitious, stagnation isn’t always external. Sometimes it can be internal. You’re still performing well. You’re still producing, still showing up but you feel the edges of yourself pressing against something.
For a while, I’ve been looking for a way to escape that feeling. Not escape my life l. Not escape my work. (though I tend to joke about that a lot) … Just an outlet that belongs entirely to me.
No sales targets.
No team oversight.
No performance metrics.
No brand voice.
Just thought.
I’ve watched friends, old and new, use this space/Substack, to think out loud. To be raw and vulnerable. To write without a marketing strategy attached. To explore ideas without knowing exactly where they land.
There’s something honest about that. And if I’m being honest, it intimidated me a bit. Because writing publicly removes the shield. You can’t hide behind product. You can’t hide behind leadership. You can’t hide behind aesthetics. It’s just you and your thoughts written down.
So this is me starting before I feel fully ready. Maybe that’s the point.
I’ve already talked about imposter syndrome once. It doesn’t disappear just because you acknowledge it. It evolves. It finds new rooms inside you.
This space is my way of meeting it head on.
If you’re reading this, you’re catching me at the beginning lol. Beginnings are rarely confident.
They’re just willing.
Thanks friends 😁

Beautiful! ❤️
Thank you for a peek at your heart.
